The main building maintains much of the charm and structure of the original building. In 2008, Oaklawn became part of Fort Worth ISD innovative program, Public Educators Accelarating Kids. As a PEAK school, new administration and professional staff was assigned to Oaklawn. We are incredibly proud of the powerful work happening through the arts at our school. This moment celebrates the dedication of our art teacher, Mr. Perez, who continually inspires our students to reach their creative potential.
Mrs. Jackie Henderson, Ms. Sandra Balderas, and Mrs. Nanedra Golding were honored as courageous women in our community and received one‑of‑a‑kind art pieces created by our students.
A special thank‑you to Jesse Cannon II, Director of Visual & Performing Arts, for his continued leadership and support of the arts across FWISD.
This inspiring event took place Saturday at the Northside Community Center—a true celebration of student voice, creativity, and community connection! 💙🎨
