Today, we cut the ribbon for Fresno’s first-ever K-9 Kennel and training facility. This will give our canine companions in Fresno PD more space to run, roam, and develop skills that help keep our community safer.
From explosive detection, narcotic detection, to search and rescue, and just being cute and furry, our K-9s serve as a vital role in keeping our community safe!
Thank you to everyone who made this facility possible.

Congratulations to the Fresno City College Women’s Beach Volleyball Team on their historic season, winning California State Championships in both the team and pairs tournaments.
We are incredibly proud of them and the way they represented Fresno. They even brought us a vial of the same beach sand they competed on, as a special reminder of an unforgettable season.
I was proud to declare, Thursday, May 21, 2026 as “Fresno City College Women’s Beach Volleyball Team Day” in the City of Fresno. Go Rams!

I’m excited to announce the beginning of the restoration work for the historic pillar at Palm and Simpson.
For more than 100 years, pillars like this one have stood as symbols of our neighborhood’s history and character. After one was destroyed in a car accident, many residents feared a piece of local history had been lost.
Thankfully, we were able to preserve most of the original stones and now our public works department has begun rebuilding this pillar by hand!

We had another great Movies in the Park at Trolley Park!
Thank you to all the residents and families who came out to enjoy a free screening of UP with our District 1 neighbors and friends.
If you missed it, mark your calendars for Friday, May 22, 2026, as we’ll be showing “TROLLS!”

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Town Hall at Williams Elementary School.
It was a great opportunity to connect directly with residents, provide updates on projects and priorities in District 1, and hear valuable feedback from the community.
We completed our artistic crosswalk project in Van Ness Village!
We painted designs that amplify the personality of our neighborhood, adding color, creativity, and increasing safety for pedestrians.
A special thank you to all of the businesses and volunteers who helped bring this vision to life!
