Some of the most meaningful moments on a trip like this happen away from the competition field. While in D.C., our Lakota West Bands drum majors laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Thank you to the directors, chaperones, and band families who made this trip possible. 🇺🇸

At least one person from our amazing Lakota Schools | District Communication team attends every feedback or informational session on our upcoming bond issue. I got quite a few questions that were answered on their FAQ page in the information video I put out yesterday. https://mfp.lakotaonline.com/about/faq-2026 Whenever someone brings a new question they either add a new question or update the answer on an existing one. It’s a great resource to peruse if you have any questions! I highly recommend checking it out.

This past week, I had the honor of attending the Class of 2026 graduations for Lakota Central, West, and East.

Seeing so many talented, resilient, and driven students cross the stage was inspiring. Every graduate has their own story and their own path ahead, and I’m excited for all that comes next for them.

As a Lakota graduate myself, these moments mean a lot to me. They are also a reminder of the responsibility we have to keep building opportunities for the students who will follow. I hope to do my part to make Lakota even stronger for the next generation of graduates.
