🎃👻 HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 👻🎃

It’s trick-or-treat night in many areas across Central PA, and Susquehanna Township EMS wants to wish everyone a fun, festive, and SAFE Halloween!

Before heading out for an evening of tricks and treats, here are a few friendly safety reminders:

🔦 Be Seen! Carry flashlights, wear reflective accessories, and make sure costumes don’t obstruct vision.

🚸 Stay Alert! Use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways, and keep little trick-or-treaters close.

🚗 Slow Down! Drivers, please use extra caution in neighborhoods and watch for excited children crossing the streets.

🍬 Check Those Treats! Parents, take a moment to inspect candy and treats before the kids dig in!

⏰🍂 AND DON’T FORGET TO FALL BACK!

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2:00 AM tomorrow, Sunday, November 1st! Remember to turn your clocks BACK ONE HOUR before heading to bed tonight. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep! 😴

From all of us at Susquehanna Township EMS, have a HAPPY, SAFE, and FANG-TASTIC Halloween! 🎃🧡🖤

Every minute without CPR, survival from Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) decreases by 10%. The quicker CPR can be provided; the likelihood of surviving cardiac arrest significantly increases. Combining immediate CPR with rapid AED defibrillation provides the highest chance of survival and recovery from sudden cardiac arrest.

Susquehanna Township EMS is proud to partner with the Emergency Health Services Federation, Avive Solutions, and The Peyton Walker Foundation's 4 Minute Community program to distribute AEDs in order to decrease the time from collapse to AED defibrillation hands-only CPR intervention to improve the rate of survival of OHCA within Dauphin County and its communities. As a partner in this program, Susquehanna Township EMS is a designated distribution site for AEDs to interested members of the public.

The Avive AED is integrated with the Dauphin County Department of Public Safety's 911 system so that when an OHCA or suspected OHCA is dispatched, AED holders within 1 mile are notified and will immediately be mapped to the emergency. This rapidly decreases the time from the activation of the 911 system to CPR and AED intervention of a community member in need of lifesaving care.

Are you interested in participating in this program to save a life? Interested in becoming a CARE team responder equipped with an AED for your home, business, school, or community center? Then you can join the CARE team by going to https://www.avive.life/4-minute-community/pa and selecting "Become a CARE Team member".
