🚧 UPCOMING RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURES 🚧

Please plan ahead for the following railroad crossing closures in Liberty County:

📍 ALLENHURST — Dunlevie Road
Off Highway 84, near Shelly Road
Crossing DOT

▪️ Closing: Monday, November 2, 2026, around 9 a.m.
▪️ Reopening: Wednesday, November 4, 2026, by approximately 6 p.m.

📍 WALTHOURVILLE — SR 119 / Talmadge Road
At Highway 84, near Busbee Road
Crossing DOT

▪️ Closing: Thursday, November 5, 2026, around 9 a.m.
▪️ Reopening: Saturday, November 7, 2026, by approximately 7 a.m.

⚠️ These are TOTAL CLOSURES. No traffic will be allowed across the railroad tracks until the work is complete.

Signs will mark the closure areas and detour routes, where available. Please use alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signs.

🥶🚗 COLD WEATHER ALERT: YOUR TIRES HAVE ENTERED THEIR DRAMATIC ERA! 🚗🥶

👀We know. We see it too. 👀

Temperatures have dropped, and suddenly everyone’s dashboard has a few extra warning lights on.

That little horseshoe looking light with the exclamation point? Yep, that one. We know it’s on; yours, ours, and probably half of Hinesville and Liberty County.

Before blaming your car for being dramatic, remember that colder temperatures cause tire pressure to drop.

A friendly reminder from your Hinesville Police Department:

Check your tire pressure and add air as needed.

Don’t put it off until tomorrow. And no, electrical tape over the warning light doesn’t make it go away. We already tried it.

Your tires aren’t asking for much, just a couple minutes of your time and a little air.

Stay warm, drive safe, and show those tires a little love!

🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT: POSSIBLE INTERDIMENSIONAL PORTAL? 🚨

We’ve seen your posts, pictures, and questions about the strange lights in the sky, and we have to admit… we had a few questions ourselves.

Our first concern was whether we had somehow been unknowingly cast in the next Avengers movie and were witnessing a portal opening to allow an army of villains from another realm to invade Hinesville.

After a brief moment of panic, we frantically searched our Standard Operating Procedures to determine the appropriate response to an interdimensional invasion. Unfortunately, it appears nobody thought to include a section on extraterrestrial threats, wormholes, or supervillains.

Just as we were preparing to contact Nick Fury himself and request backup from S.H.I.E.L.D., cooler heads prevailed.

We consulted the world’s leading authority on strange occurrences… Google.

Turns out, it was just a SpaceX rocket launch.

So, rest easy, Hinesville! There is no alien invasion, no portal to another dimension, and, as far as we know, Thanos is not headed toward Liberty County.

We have officially returned to our regularly scheduled programming.

Although, just to be safe, we’re adding “Interdimensional Threat Response” to our list of future policy revisions.

*** Update 10–07-26 @ 8:50 PM***

Tanglewood Dr has been reopened. Georgia Power is waiting for clearance to restore the electricity to the affected area.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – TANGLEWOOD DRIVE 🚨

Due to a downed powerline on Tanglewood Drive, all traffic into and out of the affected area has been temporarily stopped.

Residents on Sagewood Drive, Birchwood Lane, Darrow Lane, and Primrose Lane should be aware that they are currently unable to enter or leave their neighborhood due to the roadway closure.

Georgia Power and Brightspeed have been notified, and crews are actively working to secure the downed lines and make the area safe so the roadway can be reopened. At this time, there is no estimated time for reopening.

Hinesville Police Department units are on scene directing traffic and providing information as it becomes available.

We understand this closure is a significant inconvenience for residents in the affected neighborhoods. HPD is working closely with the utility companies to ensure the situation is resolved as safely and quickly as possible.

⚠️ Please avoid the area and do not attempt to drive around barricades or downed utility lines.

Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

🚨 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – E.G. MILES PARKWAY 🚨

Due to a water leak, all westbound lanes of E.G. Miles Parkway at Veterans Parkway are currently closed so the issue can be fixed.

🚧 Westbound traffic is being routed through the center turn lane to get around the closure.

Motorists should use caution, reduce their speed, and follow the directions of officers and traffic control personnel while traveling through the area.

Please expect delays and consider using an alternate route if possible.

We will provide an update once the roadway has been fully reopened.

Tupelo Trail has been reopened

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE – TUPELO TRAIL 🚨

Tupelo Trail near Sandy Run is completely closed due to a downed tree blocking the roadway.

Motorists traveling on Tupelo Trail will need to seek an alternate route until the tree can be removed and the roadway safely reopened.

Please use caution in the area and avoid attempting to travel around the closure.

We will provide an update once the roadway has reopened.

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – GRAY FOX ROAD CLOSED 🚧

ESG has closed Gray Fox Road between Sandy Run Drive and Forest Street to all through traffic due to a water main issue.

We know Gray Fox Road is a popular cut-through for motorists traveling from Sandy Run Drive to Forest Street to use the traffic light at Highway 84. While the closure is in place, drivers will need to use an alternate route.

If this is part of your normal morning commute, please plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes of travel time.

Please use caution in the area, follow all posted signs and barricades, and do not attempt to drive around the road closure.

We will provide an update once the roadway has reopened.

All traffic lights have been restored to normal operations and traffic is flowing normally.***

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – USE CAUTION 🚨

Due to a localized power outage, several traffic signals along General Screven Way are either completely out or operating in flash mode.

Officers are currently at affected intersections directing traffic.

⚠️ Please slow down, use extra caution, and be patient while traveling through the area. Pay close attention to officers directing traffic and allow additional time for delays.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while power is being restored.
