McNair Mens Mission

Good morning friends!
The mission is in need of coffee if anyone would like to bless it with some. We appreciate our community so much!

Big Rod was a guest of the mission for a short time while waiting for housing. We enjoyed getting to know him during his time with us. His stories left a lasting impression on us. We are thankful for the men God brings through our doors and the opportunity we were given to serve them.

View Rodney Gale Maynard's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

From a Director's heart...
There is nothing better than receiving messages from former guests who are doing well and them expressing gratitude for what was done for them at McNair Mens Mission. I'm so very grateful that God allows Mark and I to do this ministry. And we are thankful for a board that supports us, volunteers that love on us and a community that is beyond abundant with us!

Pizza Pizza Pizza!!!
McNair Mens Mission has been blessed with pizza this weekend! We always have pizza Friday, thanks to Debra Corbell-Grover and First Presbyterian Church of Washington Court House, Ohio. And then today we had 3 drop offs of pizza! Thank you to Chad with Special Olympics, Scott A Lynch and an unknown fella for thinking of us when they had extras! We love our community!

It's with great sadness that we share that our former house manager, Norm Erskine has passed away. Many knew Norm as the fella that used to sit across from Burger King before he came to the mission. I'd frequently stop and try to get him to come to the mission. I'd get weekly calls about him from concerned citizens, but he was one hard headed guy and wouldn't come to the mission no matter how many times I asked him to. Finally one rainy day in October, there he was..."can I stay now, Ms Kellie?". I told him, finally, now I'll quit getting so many calls! Norm loved being at the mission and took good care of it. When I realized it was too hard on him to leave during the day, I gave him a key and made him staff. That really did something for his spirit. To be shown kindness, to have security, and responsibility. When Norm became too ill to be at the mission, we helped him transition to long term care and our Pastor Dan McLean continued visiting him and encouraging him. Norm served the mission well. He'd often send me texts telling me I was his angel and that he loved me. Norm was appreciated and loved by us and will be greatly missed.

Below is the sign up for the meal train for McNair Mens Mission. This aspect of our ministry has been a blessing to the men who receive the meals but to the community who brings them! Please consider participating in the important ministry. Please message the page with any questions. As always we are so thankful for our community!

We love to share good news with our community. We recently had two guests obtain housing. A little bit of my heart went with the first one. He'd been with us awhile, and was just a pleasure to work with. He worked hard, followed the rules and was given the responsibility of being a staff member. Which meant he helped oversee operations during the time I'm not there. My favorite memory of him was giving him some hard to hear advice. He listened and then walked away to ponder it. He then came back to me and said "Why do you do that? Why do you treat me like I'm your kid? I've never had someone care about me like that before." I'll never forget those words. That's our goal. For our guests to feel like family, so that they can thrive and grow! Thank you to a community that supports us and loves us. We couldn't do it without you!

Once again the mission has been blessed by the Modern Woodsmen! They re-stocked our cleaning supplies. We are so very thankful!
