STEAM Days (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math) at the Idaho Falls Zoo are always a fun and wild (and electric) time! 🐒⚡

We had a fantastic couple of days hanging out with local 2nd graders, talking all things electricity while they explored hands-on STEAM stations throughout the zoo. From circuits to conductors and everything in between, there were plenty of “aha!” moments mixed in with animal encounters and big zoo-day smiles.

Big thanks to the Idaho Falls Zoo for hosting such a fun tradition. We always love seeing curious minds light up! 🦁🔌❤️

10 years ago today, Idaho Falls was just beginning the conversation about bringing fiber internet directly to all City of Idaho Falls residents' homes. Today, that vision has become reality.

Now, every home and business within Idaho Falls has access to Idaho Falls Fiber - a community-owned network built by the people of Idaho Falls, for the people of Idaho Falls. It remains Idaho's largest open-access fiber network. And more than 1/3 of all residents have already made the switch! In our 2025 Annual Report, we report that 1,031 businesses and 8,911 residential customers are enjoying the benefits of Idaho Falls Fiber (as of Sept 30, 2025).

No contracts. No hidden fees. No buffering. Just fast, reliable internet with local support and multiple trusted internet service providers to choose from.

We’ve come a long way since this post from 2016....and we’re just getting started. More exciting developments are right around the corner! ;)

May is National Electrical Safety Month - a time to recognize the importance of staying safe around electricity at home, at work, and in our community. ⚡

We’re proud to share that the Idaho Falls Power team recently earned 3rd Place in our category in the 2026 Public Power Association - NWPPA Annual Safety Contest! The award was presented during this year’s Engineering & Operations Conference, with T&D Superintendent Brandon Lerwill accepting the recognition on behalf of IFP (pictured at far right).

This achievement reflects the strong culture of safety our employees demonstrate every day. From tailboards and trainings to proactive decision-making and safety conversations, every effort helps protect our team and the community we serve.

Thank you to all IFP employees for making safety a daily priority!
