🐾✨ MEET GEORGIA GOLD! A TRUE SURVIVOR! ✨🐾

A few months ago, this young hound was found wandering along the road, badly limping. A Good Samaritan brought her to our shelter, where X-rays revealed a severely broken leg.

Amputation was an option, but Georgia was young, healthy, and deserving of a chance to keep her leg. We transferred her to Sierra Veterinary Hospital, where Dr. Jeff Wittman performed complex orthopedic surgery to repair and pin the fracture.

Because the break was old and Georgia was still growing, her recovery was anything but simple. Our staff took turns caring for her around the clock. She stayed in our homes, was carried when needed, received medications throughout the night, and required weeks of constant supervision.

She eventually underwent a second surgery to remove the pins, and the surgery was a success!

Today, Georgia is only 10 months old and uses that once broken leg beautifully. And now, this incredibly sweet girl is finally ready for her forever home!

Georgia has the sweetest temperament and gets along with everyone and everything. She is spayed, up to date on everything, and ready to start the life she deserves.

We are incredibly thankful for the amazing team who helped Georgia along the way. A special thank you to Dr. Grace Bloom, who cared for her here at the shelter, our amazing staff, and to the incredible team at Sierra Veterinary Hospital, who always step up to help stray animals in need without hesitation. ❤️

We fought hard for Georgia. Now it’s time for her forever family to find her.
