Over the last 2 days, City of Jesup Fire Department FF Harris, FF Oden, and FF Williams successfully completed "Crash Victim Extrication" hosted by Liberty County Fire Rescue. During this course, students learned the basic skills needed to perform life saving rescue operations when responding to vehicle collision incidents.

27 students from Jesup Fire, Long County Fire, Glynn County Fire, Hinesville Fire, and Liberty County Fire participated in this event.

Many thanks to Ryan Mayton, Maddox Hall, and Kyle Begnaud (Glynn County Fire), Richard Bunce (Hinesville Fire), and Tykey Mack (Jesup Fire) for assisting Jesup Training Captain Alex Mason in delivering this vital training.

A lot has been happening at the City of Jesup Fire Department over the last few days!

Last Friday, C-Shift members lent a hand distributing food with Second Harvest.

During Arch Fest on Saturday, Engineer Tykey Mack received the Jesup Firefighter of the Year Award, and Jesup Engineer Zach Lyle received the Wayne County Firefighter of the Year Award.

Firefighter Aimee Kent completed Structural Fire Control at McRae-Helena Fire Department Saturday and Sunday.

Today, Captain Mason and Engineer Jacob Lyle attended HEN nozzle live burn training at the Hinesville Fire Department training facility.

We're ALWAYS working to build a better department for our community!

City of Jesup Fire Department C-Shift members paid a visit to Jesup Elementary this morning to discuss fire safety with kids and staff. Thank you for inviting us!

Two City of Jesup Fire Department members completed Week 1 of this course, earning certifications in Rope Rescue Awareness and Operations.

This specialized type of technical rescue is new for our agency and we are very excited to watch this growth happen. Specialized training requires specific equipment and we will be adding to our cache in the future.

Over the last three days, The City of Jesup Fire Department hosted the "Fire Origin & Cause for Company Officers" course and welcomed personnel from Brunswick Fire Department, Liberty County Fire Rescue, Midway Fire Dept, and Hinesville Fire Department.

This course was led by a State of Georgia Fire Marshals Office Fire/Explosion Investigation Unit Instructor, providing critical information for first arriving personnel at various fire incident scenes.

During the course, attendees were able to view, in real time, different scenarios before, during, and after fire extinguishment for room/contents & vehicle fires. Once extinguishment was complete, students were able to view and learn cues left behind by differing accelerants and the basics of how to read burn patterns. We were also able to watch a live demonstration of a K9 trained to assist Arson Investigators, seeing how valuable this resource is.

After nearly a year of planning, this course was definitely a success, and underscores our commitment to delivering high quality training programs to our members, and opening our doors to all Georgia firefighters.

Thank you to Fair Haven Market for providing the furnishings for these burn pods. These items were instrumental in creating a realistic training environment.

Community partnerships are very important to the City of Jesup Fire Department and we would like to thank Landon's Towing & Recovery for their assistance this morning moving and repositioning vehicles being utilized for class this week.

City of Jesup Fire Department members completed an American Heart Association CPR recertification course this past Thursday. We want to extend our appeciation to Jacob Collier, paramedic with Wayne County EMS, for his instruction in this vital area.

A and B Shifts also visited 912 Studio this week for their Pilates classes and Mrs. Colleen Hardin put them to work!

Learning the principles of Yoga, Pilates, and Barre exercise regimens are 100% applicable to as they focus on core strength, proper exercise form, and correct body mechanics. These principles assist us with improving total body strength, flexibility, dexterity, and breathing control.

Predominately thought of as exercise routines for women only, we can assure you that even the strongest person will get absolutely SMOKED in one of these sessions!

Shout out to City of Jesup Fire Department A-Shift members! Outstanding initiative!

🚒❤️ Community partnerships like this are what it’s all about!

We are so proud to partner with our local Jesup Fire Department and support the incredible work they do for our community!

Our Maintenance Director, Mr. Danny Harris, with Robbie supervising, had the pleasure of welcoming the department’s newest graduates to At Home Senior Living! They spent time becoming familiar with our building and learning important details, including our riser room, attic access, and Ansul system in our kitchen.

And of course, we couldn’t let them leave without sending them off with a little At Home hospitality… apple pies! 🥧
