Strong partnerships create stronger pathways for students.

It was a pleasure to join our colleagues at Grand Rapids Community College to make the Bronco Bound Guarantee official. This partnership creates a clearer path from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree, with guaranteed admission for eligible students, scholarship opportunities and dedicated transfer support.

By working together, we’re helping more students access an affordable, high-quality education and prepare for meaningful careers. I look forward to seeing more GRCC students continue their journey as Broncos!

We want to extend a deeply heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the conversation about our new Strategic Plan!

Over 850 campus community members shared their ideas through engagement activities, and more than 500 others voiced their thoughts during our key priority groups' Listening Sessions. We've made incredible progress charting Western’s course for the next ten years because of you!

Using all of the data collected throughout the academic year, we have collaboratively updated WMU’s vision, mission, and values. You can read this draft document, review the data, and submit your feedback through the suggestion box on our website at wmich.edu/strategic.

This summer, the Core Team, Steering Committee, and DEI Advisory Committee will compile all recommendations from the key priority groups, align language, reduce overlap and begin drafting a comprehensive Strategic Plan to present to campus at the beginning of the fall 2022 semester.

The Research and Creative Scholarship key priority group will hold a special Listening Session for graduate students to share their thoughts and help shape the future of scholarship at Western through our new Strategic Plan.

Please join them on Tuesday, 4/12, from 7-8 p.m. via Webex to share your views on how to enhance involvement in and maximize the value of hands-on research and creative work for graduate students.
