"The holiday season can be especially difficult after the death of someone we love. Traditions that once brought joy may now bring sadness, family gatherings can feel overwhelming, and the absence of someone special can seem even more noticeable this time of year.

Join us at Hope Floats Healing & Wellness Center for a supportive and compassionate workshop facilitated by Gary Sturgis, founder of SURVIVING GRIEF and bestselling author of SURVIVING GRIEF – 365 Days A Year.

Gary will explore the unique challenges of grieving during the holidays, including managing difficult emotions, navigating family expectations, honoring the memory of our loved ones, and giving ourselves permission to celebrate differently, or not at all.
Whether this is your first holiday season without your loved one or you've been grieving for many years, this workshop offers a welcoming space to share, reflect, and connect with others who understand.

Grief doesn't take a holiday, and you don't have to navigate the season alone.
We hope you'll join us for an afternoon of understanding, connection, and gentle encouragement."

"I can take that [grief] and use that to empathize with the folks of my support group."

Thank you to Partner/Spouse Loss Facilitator David King for sharing how the loss of his wife, Jeanette, led him to Hope Floats and inspired him to turn his grief into hope for our community. 💜

November 2026 Friends & Family Night 🍂💜

“Saving a Seat at the Table: A Continuing Bonds Activity”

A FREE Event at Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center

Thursday, November 19, 2026
6:00-7:30pm
Hosted by Heather Gray

Mark your calendars and join us this November for Friends & Family Night at Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center (4 Elm Street, Kingston, MA 02364). Bring your parents, caregivers, grandparents, siblings, and/or bereavement buddies and join us for a cozy evening of family connection, continuing bonds, memories, and hope.

The theme of our November 2026 Friends and Family Night is focused on Continuing Bonds: the ways in which we stay connected to our loved one(s) after they have died. Throughout the event, participants will work together to create a personalized table runner and plate in honor of their loved ones that can be used to hold a thoughtful space for sharing existing memories and creating new ones.

A pizza dinner will be provided.

By the end of the evening, we hope families and friends will have had an opportunity to:
💜 Express feelings of grief
💜 Identify ways to build happiness and hope for the future
💜 Strengthen communication and connection with each other.
💜 Create a positive shared experience around remembrance

Pre-registration is required at the link below.

Over the last 3 years,
• The need for grief support has doubled.
Just in the past year, more than 450 new people reached out to Hope Floats for support.

• We expanded our reach into our communities.
Since the launch of our HEART Outreach & Education Program, more than 50 schools have received grief education trainings.

• Our volunteer program has more than doubled.
This year alone, 100+ dedicated volunteers have given their time.

• At the heart of it all, our core programming continues to grow.
Over 200 children have found connection and support through Mike’s Club, and more than 300 adults have gathered in our peer support groups, sharing stories and reminding one another that they don’t have to grieve alone.

“When the beautiful and precocious sisters Sally and Gillian Owens are orphaned at a young age, they are taken to a small Massachusetts town to be raised by their eccentric aunts, who happen to dwell in the darkest, eeriest house in town. As they become more aware of their aunts' mysterious and sometimes frightening powers -- and as their own powers begin to surface -- the sisters grow determined to escape their strange upbringing by blending into "normal" society. But both find that they cannot elude their magic-filled past. And when trouble strikes -- in the form of a menacing backyard ghost -- the sisters must not only reunite three generations of Owens women but embrace their magic as a gift -- and their key to a future of love and passion. Funny, haunting, and shamelessly romantic, Practical Magic is bewitching entertainment -- Alice Hoffman at her spectacular best.”
