‼️Important scam information ‼️

🚨🚨SCAM ALERT🚨🚨

The Plymouth Police Department and surrounding communities have received reports of senior residents being targeted by scammers seeking money to help a loved one get out of trouble.

In this scam, residents are called and notified a loved one is in jail and in need of significant bail money up to $20,000. A driver, sometimes posing as a ride share driver, is then sent to the victim's home to pick up the sum of money so their loved one can be released from jail.

All residents should be advised to NEVER give cash or check to anyone you do not know. Bail money will never be collected from you at home. Bail transactions only take place at a police station or courthouse. All residents are strongly encouraged to notify their senior family members or friends of this scam.

Should you receive a call like this, simply ignore it, and notify your local Police Department who can assist you in verifying the call. A call to the loved one involved can also re-assure you they are not in need of help.

In an emergency, if you can't speak, you can still be heard.
• The Silent Call Procedure uses a phone's keypad to communicate with a 911 dispatcher.
• You can also text to 911.
Knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference.

Every Wednesday morning, a group of oil painters meet at the Kingston Senior Center and create beautiful pieces of art. They work in a window ladened room listening to soothing music and work mostly in silence, speaking mostly when they need to seek the advice and expertise of their instructor, Violet Berry. The time provides an opportunity for seniors to express their creativity, and spend time with other artists who are supportive and encouraging.
Head over to the Kingston Public Library to check out their stunning artwork that is currently on display!
