What Is a Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Unit?

A Project-Based Voucher unit is an affordable housing unit where the rental assistance is attached to the unit itself, not the family. Eligible households who move into a PBV unit pay about 30% of their adjusted monthly income toward rent, and the remaining portion is subsidized. Assistance continues as long as the household lives in the PBV unit and meets program requirements.

• Must be 18 or older or legally emancipated
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible immigrant
