Southwest Division Officer Appreciation Day!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to 23rd Street Café for graciously hosting a special Officer Appreciation Day in recognition of the dedicated men and women of LAPD Southwest Division! 💙

Located in the heart of our community, this wonderful woman-owned Indian restaurant, led by its manager and operator, Megha, opened its doors to our officers for a day filled with delicious food, warm hospitality, camaraderie, and appreciation.

👏 A special recognition goes to Officer Daniel Hernandez, whose dedication and efforts, alongside Megha, were instrumental in bringing this event together and making it a success!

Events like these remind us that community policing is about more than public safety. It’s about building relationships, strengthening partnerships, and recognizing the people who make our neighborhoods special.

Southwest and South Traffic officers had the opportunity to attend Career Day at King Elementary! 🚔👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
Students had a great time learning about police work, meeting officers, and exploring police vehicles and equipment firsthand. Thank you to King Elementary for inviting us to be part of such a fun and educational day for the students! 💙

Built in 1902, “El Paseo” is a historic walkway that was created to provide residents access to the cemetery. After the construction of the Santa Monica Freeway, most of the walkway was destroyed. This weekend, Southwest cadets rolled up their sleeves to help restore what remains of this hidden landmark. ✨

Southwest Clergy Prayer Vigils on Wednesday April 29th. Praying for peace for those that lost their lives to violence.

Senior Lead Officer Choub organized a “Coffee with a Cop” event at Benny Potter Park, creating a welcoming space for community members to connect with local police. ☕👮‍♂️
Residents were invited to ask questions, share concerns, and engage in open conversation in a relaxed setting.

A special thank-you to Councilmember Heather Hutt and for attending and actively connecting with residents while encouraging meaningful discussion about the issues affecting the community.

The event was a great success—thank you to everyone who came out and participated.
