STHS Parenting Center The St. Being a parent is a challenge. Sometimes you can use a little help, and the Parenting Center is ready for you.

Tammany Parish Hospital Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parenting, encourages optimal child development, and enhances the well-being of the family as a whole! Some people with young children utilize the center to help their children socialize with others without experiencing the trauma of separation anxiety. Some families utilize the center as a support system to help validate the very difficult job of parenting. This also gives them the opportunity to observe that many of the behaviors of their children are normal! For parents who are juggling more than one child, our programs give parents an opportunity to share individual quality time with each. As parents, it is nice to learn how other parents deal with the same challenges. Parents and caregivers may take advantage of the many programs that are offered to the community that deal with a variety of parenting issues. The Parenting Center is not just for parents with problems. The center is for parents who want to build on their parenting skills while developing positive self-esteem in their children. The Parenting Center is not affiliated with planned pregnancy organizations, nor does it scrutinize anyone’s parenting skills. We are all in this learning process together! The Parenting Center is not a day care or drop-off program. Most of our activities are interactive opportunities for parents with their children.

Happy All Hallow's Eve (night before Halloween)! We want to make sure that you have a very fun and safe Trick or Treating with your little ghoulies. Please see below for some helpful tips:
- Please make sure that you go to neighborhoods that you either know or are well lit.
- Please go with your children to supervise that they aren't running in the streets and that they are respectful when they are visiting each home.
- Please check over their candy before they eat it to make sure it all looks safe, unopened and untampered with.

Remember to, that we have our fall time change on Saturday! Please make sure to set your clocks back 1 hour for that extra hour of sleep!

And with October ending and November starting next week, we are sharing our November calendar of events. With our ever-popular weekly Little Learners with Craft and Bond following it; to our field trip this month to the Lacombe Nature Preserve for story time and a walk; to our Thursday ballet classes; to our newest class - Tiny Tummies led by our nutritionist Jessica Greer who is going to talk about good nutrition habits, share awesome, easy recipes to cooking demonstrations with some eating afterwards....all of this and soooooo much more.

PLEASE NOTE: St. Tammany Health System is always growing and updating with the times and with this comes an update to our website - www.sttammany.health. This is where you pay your monthly membership, register for classes and more. We are finding that it has some glitches when it comes to taking payments, so until they work out the kinks, we are encouraging you to pay your membership fees at the Parenting Center front desk when you visit in person or you can call and pay over the phone. Thank you for understanding!

Chevron volunteers help freshen up the STHS Parenting Center! 🖌️✨

About 20 volunteers teamed up with St. Tammany Health System’s Construction Management team to give the exterior of the STHS Parenting Center at Koop Drive a fresh coat of paint. The work was done as part of Chevron Humankind, the company’s corporate giving and community volunteering program.
