AMUM seeks U of M students to work in the museum as student workers through federal work study or as Mellon Foundation interns. Students are eligible to apply if they have federal work study OR if they wish to apply for the Mellon and are majoring in a program from the College of Arts and Sciences during the Fall 2026 semester. AMUM can only take applications from students through these two opportunities.

Come join the Institute of Egyptian Art and Archaeology for our annual Family Day, Saturday May 2nd at the Art Museum of the University of Memphis from 11am-2pm!

We'll have activities for everyone, from kids to adults and folks in-between. Bring your family or take a fun break from finals.

Learn to write your name in hieroglyphs, make an Egyptian amulet, learn how to sort and record pottery like an archaeologist, and many more hands-on activities! There will be plenty of Egyptologists on hand-- ask us anything!

The Art Museum has two exhibitions opening next Saturday, April 4th. "The Art of Giving: New Gifts" will showcase the museum's latest acquisitions and "Wing, River, Sky" will feature the paintings and videos of ephemeral landscapes done by Memphis-based artist Maysey Craddock.

📆We will celebrate the openings of these exhibitions with a reception happening April 4th from 3-5pm in Communication and Fine Arts, Room 142. These exhibitions will be on display until June 13th.

Join us next Tuesday, March 31st for the Internship Exchange Fair in the UC Ballroom. The fair will be from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. This is an incredible opportunity for U of M students in the College of Arts and Sciences or Art History majors to learn about the Mellon Humanities Internship Program and meet potential employers who are hosting paid internships in the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters.
