Find out by attending "Freedom, Fields, and Faith" - a presentation by Richard Shockey, Christian's ninth great grandson. Richard will speak beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11th, at Meyersdale's Zion Lutheran Church, situated at 355 Center Street. His presentation - the next in our Meyersdale Public Library's "America ... We're All Part of the Story" guest speaker series - will highlight Christian's 54-year journey to Somerset County, his contributions to the settlement of Elk Lick and Salisbury, homesteading on Piney Run, the area's first sawmill, and Christian's life in Greenville Township. All are invited!
