𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒔, "𝑰𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆."

But science tells us that under stress, sleep deprivation, and sudden changes in routine, our brains can slip into "autopilot." A tragic memory glitch can override conscious intention. And it can happen to anyone.

On a warm day, 𝐚 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟎 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬. Even as the weather starts to cool down and temperatures outside feel mild, the inside of a car can still become dangerously hot.

𝐇𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞. Let’s protect what matters most by building systems that outsmart our routines.

✅Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.

✅Check the back seat before locking up.

✅Keep your keys and key fobs out of children's reach.

A few extra seconds can save a life. We encourage you to share this message in your community. Visit https://vachildcare.com/.../vehi.../hot-cars-and-heatstroke/ for more information

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, fi****ms are the leading cause of death for children and teens (ages 1 to 19) in the United States. Safely storing fi****ms reduces the risk of unintentional shootings, playing a crucial role in preventing violence.

In Virginia, the law requires fi***rm owners to keep loaded, unsecured fi****ms away from minors (Va. Code § 18.2-56.2).

𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝, 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡. Storing fi****ms securely, keeping am******on locked up separately and out of reach of reach of children saves lives.

It's Halloween week! 🎃

Parents, remind yourselves that some costumes — similar to puffy coats — have excess material and can prevent a car seat from keeping your child SAFE in a crash.

Don't risk it — change them into their costumes at your destination. 🦄✔️
