Halloween is a special time of year where you can dress up, eat lots of candy, and have fun with friends and family. But of course it's also important to be safe by following some basic safety tips to ensure your holiday remains festive and fun.
So, here are the top five Halloween safety tips:
1. Keep Halloween decorations away from open flames and other heat sources like lightbulbs and heaters
2. Swap out traditional candles with battery-operated ones or glow-sticks for lighting jack-o-lanterns
3. Carry a flashlight when trick-or-treating after dark
4. Choose costumes that are short enough that you won't trip and bright enough so others can see you
5. Keep exits clear of decorations so nothing blocks escape routes
