Need a little inspiration to get in the pool?

How about EIGHT straight state championships?

Congratulations to our incredible Outer Banks Family YMCA senior swimmers, who helped Dare County bring home its eighth consecutive first-place finish at the North Carolina Senior Games!

Dare County swimmers racked up an impressive 736 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Mecklenburg County with 526 points.

And a special shoutout to Charlie Erwin, who broke FOUR state records!

Congratulations to all our senior swimmers! You've given us plenty to cheer about and maybe a little motivation to get back in the pool!

A splash, a wag, and a wonderful cause! 🐾💦
Our annual Soggy Doggy event was a huge hit with the Outer Banks community as we closed the outdoor pool for the season. Thanks to everyone who joined us, we’re proud to present this donation to the Coastal Humane Society to help local people with emergency veterinary needs. Thank you for helping make a difference—one happy pup at a time!

Imagine a neighbor wondering how they’ll make their next meal stretch just a little farther. That’s why we’re having our Mobile Food Pantry on October 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. raining.

No one in our community should have to face hunger alone. Please share this with a friend, neighbor, or family member who may benefit.

We’ll be in the parking lot, or in the basketball gym if it rains. Together, we can make sure help is within reach. ❤️

Sometimes, getting started is easier with a little help from your friends 💙

At the Y, you can find your people through group exercise classes, aquatics, and meaningful connections with others. Whatever support looks like for you, there’s a place for you here!

🌊We are proud to share our Tidal Wave of Blessings Box, a project built with love and a shared commitment to serving others by the late Stuart Wylie, our beloved Outer Banks YMCA Tidal Waves Head Swim Coach, and Sadie Wills, Tidal Waves swimmer and 2025–2026 YMCA Swimming & Diving National Athlete Representative.🌊

Though Stuart is no longer with us, his spirit of kindness, service, and love for our community lives on. What began as a project built together as Sadie’s community service initiative is now an opportunity for our Y family and community to continue that same spirit of giving.

We welcome donations of:
- Non-perishable food items
- Personal hygiene products
- Pet food and pet supplies

Whether you need a helping hand or have a little extra to share, the Blessing Box is for you. Every donation, every item taken, and every act of kindness helps make our community a little stronger. It is located on the east side of the parking lot near the bypass. (The rosemary plants are edible, too! More herbs to come in the spring!)

💙 In honor of Stuart and the kindness he shared so freely, let’s keep this little box full of love. 💙

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders, service members and ordinary people who stepped forward in the days that followed.

We also hold close the families and communities who continue to carry that loss, 25 years later.

We remember.
