Every Memorial ceremony needs a Color Guard, and the New London's Memorial Day Candlelight Vigil was no exception. I would like to thank New London High School NJROTC Color Guard for their support in our ceremony. Your attention to detail was impressive and your military bearing was flawless. The committee would like to thank the following Cadet/LT Mez Boyd, Cadet/LTjg Jacoby Bogue, Cadet/Ensign Omari Boyd, Cadet/CPO Katana Levesque, Cadet/CPO Jordan Harrell, Cadet/SN Lesbie Garcia, and LCDR (ret) Carl Matteucci, Senior Naval Science Instructor and mentor.

A big thanks to all who attended the Memorial Day Vigil. NLVAC along with the Vigil Memorial Committee for a heartfelt ceremony honoring Cal Robertson. Cal was a Hospital Corpsman serving 2 tours in Vietnam and for service to his country and compassion to the wounded and fallen in a country half a world away. Also, for his tireless advocacy for peace and to end all wars.
His cousin, Caroline Delaney, was the guest speaker and spoke of Cal's life and his quest for peace in our corner of CT.
Thank you to Jeri Buckholt and family for providing Veterans with Girl Scout cookies again this year.
