City of New London Animal Control Department

Yesterday morning, we helped our elderly Chihuahua mix cross to the Rainbow Bridge. She ate her breakfast at about 830, and at approx. 1045 am she collapsed in her kennel. She was rushed to the vet, where the decision was made to euthanize her due to her poor condition. We named her Iris, and held her while she made her final journey. We asked her to wait for us to meet her at the Bridge, because her previous owners don't deserve the honor of escorting her over after abandoning this poor elderly girl in the rain.
This job is never easy. Rest easy Iris. We'll see you in a while.

MEET GENO!

Geno is a large and boisterous boy. He is a pit bull mix, about 1 1/2 years old. He is about 70 pounds, is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm and is on preventative, and is microchipped. He has no manners, so will need an owner willing to work with a stubborn, young dog. He is food and ball motivated, he just needs some guidance. He would do best as an only dog, and has showed a little too much interest in cats to live with them. He should be with older kids due to his energy level and size.
