The Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) wishes good luck to all those who will be participating in the 2026 TCS New York City marathon!

LNDCAC, along with voluntary hospitals and commercial ambulances, will be 1 of 4 New York City Volunteer EMS agencies supporting the FDNY. We will be one of dozens of ambulances, hundreds of EMS personnel, and thousands of first responders along the marathon route

Our ambulance will be far from home posting along 1st Avenue in Manhattan, covering medical emergencies from the Queens side of the Queens Borough Bridge (Mile 15) to 116th Street (Mile 19)

If you see us, don’t be afraid to say hello. Know someone running the race? Let us know, we’d love to cheer them on!

The Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) wants to spread the festivities of a spook-tacular Halloween! 🎃

Each Halloween, LNDCAC loves to roam the streets of the neighborhood and participate in reverse trick-or-treating, where we drive our lighted wagon around town and hand out delicious chocolate and sugary goods to local monsters. 👻

If you would like us to stop by your home, fill out the Reverse Trick-or-Treat Request Form to request us to visit you on Halloween!

25 years later, we remember September 11, 2001

We continue to share the stories of Louis Calderon, Melissa Hylla (Haggerty), and Scott Hylla, who displayed extraordinary courage and selflessness by heeding the call into Manhattan that morning, not knowing what to expect.

We remember, in the weeks that followed, providing crucial assistance to the New York City 911 system with our secondary ambulance while continuing to respond to emergencies in the Little Neck-Douglaston area.

The members who responded and provided assistance during and after 9/11 are now battling 9/11-related illnesses ranging from, anxiety, depression and lung disease, to post traumatic stress disorder and night terrors, yet they continue to make a significant impact on patients on the front lines.

We are deeply privileged that they can continue to share their experiences with our current membership, allowing us to connect with such a pivotal moment in our agency’s history.

We offer our deepest condolences to the families who continue to grieve. We honor the legacy of those who have passed, the stories of those who survived, and the many heroes that saved lives. We continue to support the heroes and survivors who continue to battle the illnesses resulting from this tragic event.

May we never forget

On Sunday, May 3rd, the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) provided medical standby coverage at the 2026 TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour 🚴🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Our secondary ambulance was far from home, posting in Long Island City and covering medical emergencies from the Queens side of the Queensboro Bridge (Mile 15) to the Pulaski Bridge (Mile 22).

With the assistance of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center's EMS Bike Team and the support of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), LNDCAC transported one patient to the hospital, whom we later found was a former member of our community and had parked their car in Douglaston on the way to the bike tour

We much enjoyed watching all the cyclists traverse through their 40 mile tour, along with collaborating with many inter-agency counterparts. Congratulations to all those who participated!

On Sunday, April 26th members of the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) attended and provided standby medical coverage at the Great Unveiling of the Padre Pio Shrine of Little Neck, now located at 45-32 Little Neck Parkway.

During the ceremony, our members were moved by Giuseppe Oppedisano’s profound experience of recovering in the hospital after surviving a tragic plane crash, as well as the many blessings, speeches, and songs that followed the telling of his story. The day brought together hundreds of people to a place of faith, gratitude and community.

With our services being needed at this event, we also greatly appreciate Chaplain Rev. Father Joseph Fonti for giving our members a special blessing after the ceremony as first responders, healthcare providers, and volunteers.

On the rainy morning of Saturday, April 25th, members of the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) participated in and provided standby medical coverage for the Udalls Cove 57th Annual Cleanup. Our Youth Corps, Attendants, and EMTs all traversed and helped clean the swampy low tide marshes of various finding interesting trash items.

Thank you to the Udalls Cove Preservation Committee for welcoming the agency each year, and for hosting a great picnic lunch at the Community Church of Douglaston. While we will be more wary of losing a boot or two to the mud next year, we are happy to help preserve the wetlands of Little Neck and Douglaston!

On Friday, April 17th, the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, Inc. (LNDCAC) was requested to respond to P.S. 94Q. Upon arrival, dozens of 4th graders were found in the auditorium eagerly awaiting our arrival.

To our surprise, the teachers, staff, parents, and students, collectively put together a huge thank you basket for the corps, combined with handwritten letters and hand drawn notes from each of the students, following their visit to our station this past January. The letters and drawings were all so sweet! Some even drew our station with surprisingly accurate scaling and details.

Thank you thank you to the 4th grade classes of P.S. 94Q for putting together such a thoughtful gift!
