At the Circle of Care Awards 2026, we had the honor of celebrating three extraordinary caregivers whose dedication, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting difference in the lives of the people and families they serve.

✨ Mirielle Anelson — Over 21 years of dedicated service to CABS, bringing compassion, honesty, and genuine care to every person she serves.

✨ Anselma Trinidad — 11 years of service at CABS, finding purpose in caring for others, building meaningful connections, and making a difference in the lives of those she supports.

✨ Bernadette Quick — 28 years in home care at CABS, advocating for fairness and helping those she serves feel valued, supported, and treated with dignity.

We are proud to celebrate these remarkable women and the countless ways caregivers show up with compassion, dedication, and heart every day.

Thank you for being at the center of care. ❤️

"“This work has never been just a job. It has always been about people. Mi Gente!”

Those words from Rosa M. Pelton Alcantara, recognized as an Organizational Honoree at COCA 2026, captured the heart of her leadership and advocacy.

In her remarks, Rosa reflected on her journey working alongside underserved families and individuals and the importance of listening, helping people find resources, speaking up for others and reminding people that they are not alone.

Today, through her leadership at Somos Inc., she continues that commitment by creating spaces where communities are heard, bringing leaders together around issues that matter, and creating opportunities for the next generation through scholarships, internships and leadership development.

She reminded us that leadership is not defined by a title or recognition, but by what we do with our position to make life better for someone else.

We are honored to celebrate Rosa and her continued commitment to advocacy, opportunity and community. 💙

Thank you, Rosa, for being part of our Circle of Care.

"Today, we recognize World Polio Day.

Polio is a serious disease that can cause lifelong paralysis, but vaccination and strong public health efforts have helped bring the world closer to ending it.

Protecting our communities starts with staying informed, keeping vaccinations up to date and supporting access to preventive care.

"“Be the difference.”

Those words from Joe and Gabriel LaPointe, recipients of the Care Community Partner Award at COCA 2026, captured the spirit of an evening centered on care and community.

In his remarks, Joe reminded us that the work we do for our families, friends and communities matters — but so does the care we give ourselves. He encouraged us to give ourselves grace, make room for joy, rest when we need to, and remember that our contributions matter.

His message was a powerful reminder that caring for others starts with recognizing our own worth, too.

“Your setbacks do not erase your contributions.”

Thank you, Joe and Gabriel, for being part of our Circle of Care and for reminding us to continue doing good while making room to care for ourselves along the way. 💙
