Nearly 90 bankers gathered for the Women in Banking luncheon on Thursday, which was sponsored by Frazer Bank. The OBA’s Scott Thompson (and his either Halloween- or OSU- inspired vest!) provided an update on fraud-related legislation during the event.

Our Barkers and Bankers event was paws-itively a success! Bankers and their four-legged friends enjoyed an afternoon of great conversation and lots of wagging tails. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event one to remember.

The 2026 OBA Comsumer Lending School continued today with a session on relationship banking from City National Bank’s Matthew Rowe, as well as the class photo. The school will wrap up Friday with the final exam.

It’s hump day, which means we’re halfway through the 2026 OBA Consumer Lending School!

It’s been a packed week so far as bankers dive into key topics across consumer lending, including regulations, lender liability, risk management, loan pricing, collections and more.

Attendees get to hear from industry experts, including the OBA’s Scott Thompson and Bank of Oklahoma’s Brae Riley, as they lead the class through topics like lender liability and Regulation Z.

We’re excited to keep the learning and conversations going through the rest of the week!

The 2026 OBA Basic Banking School wrapped up its week-long run today with an exam and the class photo. The school helped prepare those new to the industry with basic concepts and ideas. Instructors such as (pictured) Chris Morris and James Finch led discussions in various topics during the school.

Bankers at the ballpark was a real home run as we cheered on the OKC Comets against the Sugar Land Space Cowboys! We shared great conversation today, getting to hear from our very own Sharon Lewis about fraud prevention. Thank you to all who spent this sunny afternoon with us!

The OBA held its first board of directors meeting for the 2026-27 year at the Oklahoma State Capitol building on Wednesday. Board members first gathered for a photo before 2026-27 Chair Priscilla Cude gaveled in the meeting.

OBA Compliance School students prepare for their case study presentations. The school continued today and will wrap up on Friday.
