Welcome to East Campus!

Located in east Orlando, it is home to Valencia's Arts and Entertainment programs, a research-focused Honors program, a Weekend College and a wide range of courses for the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees. The grassy mall area in front of the library is a popular gathering place for campus events, which are as diverse as the multicultural student body. From International Educatio

We're of John and the amazing work he does in the Music department.

“You can dream about breaking a glass ceiling all day long, but it's a lot easier to know that somebody's already on the other side of it,” says John Clayton, Music Department Assistant.

In 2017, John experienced a major life change when he began losing his vision due to severe glaucoma.

Despite becoming legally blind, his contagious optimism has kept him moving forward and building a life centered around what he loves most: music and film. Through it all, he continues to inspire students to pursue their dreams and embrace the opportunities education can provide. Read more about John: https://bit.ly/43uyl0b

Kudos to this week's Featured Colleague at Valencia College — our very own Marcelle Wycha, the chair of our Developmental English department.

Our students' accomplishments wouldn't be possible without the guidance and support of professors like Marcelle Wycha, Chair, Developmental English, who "meet students where they are" and continually reflect on their teaching practices to improve student success.

Congratulations to Ryan Hodges, who was recognized for creating a welcoming environment for students. Read his story. 👇

Chemistry Lab Supervisor Ryan Hodges shares that he is most proud of building a positive and welcoming work environment for his team, most of whom are Valencia College students.

"Since most of my lab assistants are first-time employees, there's something really rewarding about watching someone walk in on day one, barely knowing what to do with their hands, and then seeing them leave the position confident and ready to take on the world. That never gets old," shares Ryan.
