The CFX system includes SR 408, SR 528, SR 417, SR 429, SR 414, SR 453, SR 538, and SR 451.

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) is an independent agency of the state that owns, operates and maintains a regional network of expressways for 3.3 million residents and more than 72 million visitors in Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. CFX’s 125-mile user-funded system includes 865 lane miles, 73 interchanges, 14 mainline toll plazas, 5 mainline gantries, 74 ramp toll plazas and 343 bridges and eight named expressways. The entire system is supported by tolls; no taxes of any kind fund CFX operations. On average, more than one million toll transactions are recorded every day, and nearly 90% occur electronically. Introduced in 1994, the E-PASS transponder was the first electronic toll-collection device in Florida. Today, over a half-million transponders are in circulation in Central Florida.

? Central Florida Expressway Authority's Wrong-Way Driving Detection and Prevention System covers 100% of off-ramps outside active construction zones across our 125-mile expressway system.

Since 2016, more than 2,500 wrong-way drivers have turned around before entering the expressway, an 88.6% documented turnaround rate.

Improvements are underway along SR 408 and in the surrounding community.

Along Rio Grande Avenue near Jones High School, CFX widened the existing sidewalk and added trees to provide shade along the walkway.

This is one of several improvements planned as part of the SR 408 project.
