It was great to welcome another small business to District 1 this weekend at the grand opening of Heavenly Bites.

I’m always excited to see entrepreneurs investing in our community, and the gelato was truly delicious.

Wishing Heavenly Bites all the best!

This Pride Month, we recognize and honor the fundamental freedom for every individual to love openly, live authentically and be themselves without fear.

At its core, Pride reflects the ongoing pursuit of freedom in all its forms: the freedom to love, the freedom to express one’s identity and the freedom from discrimination.

To mark the first day of Pride Month, I attended the community blood donation drive hosted by OneBlood.

During the 2016 Pulse tragedy, medical teams were able to use blood previously donated by the community to help save lives. Today’s blood drive at Orlando City Hall continues that legacy.

If you are able, I encourage you to donate blood and support this meaningful effort. Your donation can make a lifesaving difference.

Wishing everyone a meaningful, uplifting and empowering celebration. Happy Pride Month! 🌈

This morning, Congressman Darren Soto announced more than $43 million in federal funding for improvements at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Kissimmee Gateway Airport.

I joined the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) and several other Central Florida leaders at MCO to discuss what this investment means for the City of Orlando and District 1, including $33 million dedicated to terminal upgrades at MCO.

These improvements will support essential infrastructure needs at one of our region’s busiest gateways and help ensure that the airport continues to serve residents, workers and visitors safely and efficiently.

Thank you to Greenwood Cemetery for inviting me to this evening’s Memorial Day Ceremony. It was an honor to join our community in remembering the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.

Standing together, we reflected on their courage, their sacrifice and the freedoms we owe to them. I’m grateful to everyone who came out to pay tribute and help keep their memory alive.

May we continue to honor these heroes, not only on Memorial Day, but every day.

This morning, I was privileged to join the Lake Nona High School community for their graduation ceremony. I was grateful to be invited onstage and congratulate each graduate as they crossed.

Watching these students reach such an important milestone and seeing the pride of their families and teachers was truly inspiring.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you will accomplish!

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Orlando International Airport (MCO), right here in District 1. With more than 57.6 million passengers in 2025 and a regional economic impact of over $41 billion, MCO continues to be one of the most important economic engines in Central Florida.

During the visit, I learned about the airport’s ongoing investments in customer experience, major infrastructure upgrades and its continued expansion to meet the needs of our rapidly growing region. From new gates and parking expansions to strengthened international connectivity, MCO’s progress reflects the innovation and momentum shaping the future of District 1 and the City of Orlando.

Proud to represent a district that is home to one of the nation’s leading airports, and grateful to the GOAA team for their dedication and forward‑thinking leadership. Let’s keep moving Orlando forward.
