Dr. Carrie Frohnapfel has been named Director of Student Services, Mr. Garrett Miller will serve as the new Principal of Marshall Middle School, and Mrs. Jill Fleming-Salopek will join the district as the Principal of Bradford Woods Elementary.

An established leader within the District, Dr. Frohnapfel has served as the Supervisor of Special Education for the past two years.

“I am honored and grateful to continue serving the North Allegheny community as the Director of Student Services,” said Dr. Frohnapfel. “My goal is to support students, staff, and families through collaborative leadership, strong relationships, and a continued commitment to inclusive practices and ensuring the success of every student.”

Before joining North Allegheny, Dr. Frohnapfel spent 14 years with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU), serving in several leadership capacities, including Director of Preschool Early Intervention, Training and Consultation Coordinator, and School Improvement Implementation and Monitoring Coordinator.

Mr. Miller has more than a decade of educational experience, including roles as an Assistant Principal and social studies teacher at Slippery Rock Area High School. Before beginning his career in education, Mr. Miller served as a Captain and Infantry Officer in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

Mrs. Fleming-Salopek joins North Allegheny from the Baldwin-Whitehall School District, where she most recently served as the Director of Curriculum Implementation and Learning Pathways for the last six years. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in education, including administrative roles as Principal and Assistant Principal at J.E. Harrison Middle School in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District, as well as Assistant Principal at Steel Valley High School.

“I am deeply committed to supporting the academic and social growth of every student while continuing to promote excellence throughout the North Allegheny School District,” said Mrs. Fleming-Salopek. “Through my experience, passion for education, and dedication to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families, I look forward to contributing to the continued growth and success of the North Allegheny school community.”

Throughout her career, Mrs. Fleming-Salopek has held several administrative leadership roles, including Principal and Assistant Principal at J.E. Harrison Middle School in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District and Assistant Principal at Steel Valley High School.

Mrs. Fleming-Salopek is a 1994 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Education in Science from Duquesne University and completing an Administrative Program for Principals at California University of Pennsylvania.
