Lint happens. Fires don’t have to. Lint buildup can lead to a dryer fire if it’s not cleaned regularly.

• Clean the lint filter before or after each load.
• Make sure the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is running.
• Have a qualified service person clean the inside of the dryer cabinet and exhaust duct once a year.

At approximately 8:15am today, stations 225 and 222 were alerted for a vehicle crash with a utility pole possibly sheared and reported injuries on Frankstown Road near Orin Street. 225EN arrived on scene to find a single vehicle into a utility pole with the pole completely sheared and airbag deployment in the vehicle. The occupant of the vehicle self extricated and was cared for by EMS. Crews from 225 and 222 secured the roadway and assisted with traffic control and debris cleanup. The driver of the vehicle was transported by PHEMS with minor injuries.

A second reported vehicle crash came in at Frankstown Road near Bonair Road while units were clearing the first scene. Vehicle lost control and went up an embankment into a yard where it struck another parked vehicle. There were no injuries at the second crash so units provided traffic control while the vehicle was removed.
