Richlands Volunteer Fire Department serves the citizens of Richlands and northwest Onslow County.

RVFD is a volunteer Fire department located in downtown Richlands North Carolina. We serve both the town of Richlands and a large portion of northwest Onslow county. We are a class 3 / 4 ISO rated department with around 40 active volunteers, dedicated to serving the community and the visitors of the greater Richlands area.

Hey Richlands, time to fall back in time and check that smoke detector battery (and date).
Smoke detector older than 10 years need retiring and replacing. It has served well.

Messaging around smoke alarms and batteries is more nuanced now that newer smoke alarms often feature 10-year batteries.

For those ending this weekend, change clocks and check batteries only if needed. Test smoke alarms monthly.

This week, we were visited by the Richlands Home Educators group, had a fun and informative visit. They learned about fire safety and how to employ a fire extinguisher.
