The Iran War Powers Resolution that I cosponsored (opposing the war) just passed the House of Representatives.

The People’s House is sending a message: end this war.

Henry David Thoreau was both a naturalist and a fierce defender of individual conscience and limited government. When he refused to pay a poll tax in protest of the Mexican-American War, he was jailed for it.

Out of that act came his famous essay "Civil Disobedience" (1849), where he endorses the motto “that government is best which governs least” and urges readers to “withdraw their support, both in person and property” from governments that make and enforce unjust laws.

Fascism is total state control. Merger of corporate and government power. Suppression of dissent. Centralized authority over every aspect of life.

The people screaming "fascist" loudest often demand more government control over speech, the economy, and ideological conformity.

That's closer to fascism than anything classical liberals advocate.

Wanting freedom isn't fascism. It's the antidote.

Faith in a monopoly of force is not well founded.

The debt grows. The wars continue. The surveillance expands. Government keeps winning.

If you’re pulled over, keep it simple. This is about rights, not attitude.

Step 1: Be calm and respectful
Hands visible. No sudden movements.

Step 2: Provide required info only
License, registration, insurance. Nothing more.

Step 3: Do not explain your day
Say: “I’m not discussing my day.”

Step 4: Clarify the stop
Ask: “Am I being detained, or am I free to go?”

Step 5: If questioned further, invoke your rights
Say: “I invoke the Fifth Amendment.”

Step 6: Ask for counsel
Say: “I want to speak to a lawyer.”

Step 7: Stop talking
Silence is a constitutional right, not guilt.

Bottom line:
You cannot talk your way out of a legal situation.
You can talk your way into one.

This is what real civic education looks like.
Know your rights. Use them.

If we cherish freedom and want a better world for our loved ones then we must… END THE FED!

A free market, where each person is free to choose what form of money to use rather than one being forced on them, must be allowed to function in its place.
