Only 8 days until the Holiday Home Tour. We are super excited to host all of our guests for the first time since 2018! We paused during 2020 and 2022, but are raring to go in 2023.

This year, we have homes from a wide variety of architectural styles: 3 Tudor Revivals, a Spanish Revival, a Greek Revival, a Georgian Revival, and two Ranch houses. You will definitely enjoy seeing these traditional early 20th Century architectural styles.

And in a break from tradition, we are including a home currently under renovation. So many people have been wondering what is going on at the Castle, so the Home Tour committee conviced the owner to include this home. This is a unique opportunity to "take a peek under the hood" and see just what happens during renovation of a historic property.

Some call this a phone nook. Others, a phone niche. Either way, we love them for their character and their utility. Visit Monticello Park for our Holiday Home Tour on 12/3/23, and see which houses have this nice historic detail. And give us a comment to let us know if you have one of these in your house!

Several of our homes will display the ORIGINAL BLUEPRINTS of their houses this year. Blueprints were invented in 1842 and showed white lines on a blue background. This was the major way floorpans were duplicated for over 100 years. Do you have the original blueprints for your home?

Don't mope around and get the "blues." Buy your tickets today!

We absolutely LOVE steel casement windows. Steel casements were often used in revival styles during the 1920s through 1940s. After that, they became extremely popular in mid-century house designs.

Here is a completely restored steel casement being reinstalled into one of the homes on this year's tour. In fact, three homes on this year's tour feature gorgeous steel casements. Get your tickets NOW and come "case out" these houses!

Two homes on this year's tour feature crenellations, the alternating pattern on a battlement. The Dictionary of Architecture and Construction defines battlement as "a fortified parapet with alternate solid parts and openings...Generally for defense, but employed as a decorative motif."

Want to see which two crenelated homes are being featured? Follow this link to learn more and GET YOUR TICKETS for the tour. We promise there won't be any battle!
