5 Ways TSPLOST Can Impact Your Everyday Life:

1️⃣ Less congestion and smoother traffic flow

2️⃣ More sidewalks and safer pedestrian access

3️⃣ Safer intersections for drivers, walkers, and cyclists

4️⃣ Improved transportation safety and efficiency

5️⃣ Better connections between nearby destinations with mid-block crossings and walkable routes

This fall, Sandy Springs voters will have the opportunity to vote on TSPLOST renewal. If approved, funding would support for transportation improvements like these throughout our community.

With a planned burn taking place in a neighboring county, please keep in mind that smoke may be noticeable in our area.

If you see visible smoke or flames that concern you, please report them. However, if you're only noticing a smoke smell, please refrain from calling 911 unless there are signs of an active fire or another emergency.

If you are smelling smoke or seeing a haze in Sandy Springs today it’s likely coming from a prescribed burn in the Abernathy/Macedonia area of Bartow County close to Lake Allatoona. The burn was conducted by the US Army Corp of Engineers and the Bartow County Fire and Emergency Services. Please refrain from calling 911 for an outdoor smell of smoke unless you can see smoke or flames from a source.

Strong winds and heavy rain from Hurricane Isaias continue to affect our area. Our teams are working alongside our partners to clear fallen trees and help restore power where it’s safe to do so.

Please use caution around fallen trees and storm debris, and never go near a downed power line. We’ll continue to share updates as needed.
