A heartfelt thank you to the Knights Templar for showing up for Casa Familia.

This group of volunteers rolled up their sleeves and gave our kitchen a deep clean. The group went even further and donated more than $800 in supplies and food staples.

The kitchen is the heart of our community. It’s where families gather, share meals, and find comfort. Your generosity means the families we serve will continue to feel that care.

Thank you for your time, your hard work, and your generosity. You are the heroes that make the world go round.

Casa Familia needs people who are willing to cook meals for residents. Each meal is for 15 to 20 people, including kids. Some kitchen staples are available. A commercial kitchen is on the premises.

Can't volunteer to cook? Casa Familia is also in need of Tupperware, paper plates, toilet paper, and paper towels. Please contact Shannon Milligan to coordinate donations and to volunteer: [email protected] or (505) 983-2042.

An update on Hungry Mouth 2026

St. Elizabeth’s annual Hungry Mouth event will not take place this year.

As we welcome new leadership, we’re taking time to thoughtfully reassess how we approach fundraising, community events, and the ways we connect with the people and organizations who support our mission.

Hungry Mouth has been a special tradition, bringing together friends, supporters, local businesses, and community partners. To everyone who has helped make it possible over the years: thank you. We’re deeply grateful.

We’ll miss gathering with you this year, but we’re excited to explore new and meaningful ways to engage with our community and create opportunities to support our work.

More to come as these plans develop. Thank you for standing with St. Elizabeth and the individuals and families we serve throughout Santa Fe.

Did you know?

St. Elizabeth Shelter opened on December 15, 1986, in response to a community-wide, interfaith commitment to meet the growing needs of people experiencing homelessness in Santa Fe.
Inspired by the work of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the Sisters of Charity were fundamental to the planning and day-to-day operations of the nondenominational shelter in its early days.

We promise to take a break from DONATION posts soon, but when it rains, it pours. With the weather shifting to cooler temperatures, we are receiving more requests than ever at our Alraid Street Men’s Shelter. Something that we are continually are being asked for is dog food. If you can donate some we’d be very grateful.
