Kiwanians were well represented at the ceremonial tree planting of a Japanese cherry tree in Columbia Park. The nation of Japan has donated trees to the City of Sidney in celebration of America 250. The trees symbolize the enduring friendship between our two nations.

🦇 Our bat box project is moving right along!

Our Aktion Club members assembled 10 bat boxes for Ft. Loramie State Park this evening.

A big shout-out to the Agribusiness Management students at Sidney High School for cutting the lumber last month. Special thanks to Amanda Hurley from Shelby Soil & Water Conservation District for helping ensure everything was pre-drilled and ready for assembly. She also guided our members through the building process and educated everyone on why these bat houses are so important!

Next step: PAINT! Stay tuned as we get one step closer to placing these bat boxes throughout the park.

We're back at it at Rock the Block today!

09/30/2026

We held our regular weekly meeting today at the site of “Rock the Block.” We got to see first-hand how Habitat for Humanity leverages financial donations and hundreds of volunteer hours into thousands of dollars’ worth of community investment in one neighborhood. Kiwanians along with many other volunteers and supporters have worked to complete dozens of home repairs, property maintenance, and beautification projects.
