Thank you to each of the 16 St. Louisans who were sworn in at City Hall on Wednesday morning to serve on our City's boards and commissions.
They, and everyone else serving in this way, volunteer their time and effort to help address a long range of issues that affect St. Louisans.
If you are interested in shaping our city's future by serving on a board or commission, you can learn more about our vacancies and how to apply at https://www.stlouis-mo.gov/government/boards/apply-to-serve.cfm

Summer camp at Northside is more than something to do. βοΈ
For neighborhood youth, it means a safe place to grow, learn, laugh, make friends, stay active, and be surrounded by adults who believe in them. π
It means structure during the summer months. It means positive memories. It means meals, enrichment, recreation, mentorship, and a community that refuses to let our children be overlooked. ππΎ
At Northside, summer camp is part of how we invest in the future of North St. Louis, one child, one family, and one joyful summer day at a time. π±

βοΈ Summer starts here at Northside!
Our free neighborhood summer camp is officially underway, and our young explorers are already filling the building with energy, joy, creativity, and big dreams. From new staff orientation to new adventures for our youth, this summer is about more than keeping kids busy β itβs about helping them visit new places, learn new things, build confidence, and imagine whatβs possible. π
A stronger North St. Louis is essential to a stronger St. Louis. β€οΈ
Our future is connected.
When North St. Louis grows stronger, St. Louis grows stronger.
The Northside Intergenerational Community Center is more than a building. It is an investment in seniors, youth, families, community services, disaster response, and the future of a neighborhood that has given so much to this city.
We broke ground because North St. Louis deserves more than promises.
Now we keep building.

When crisis hits, communities turn to trusted places. β€οΈ
The tornado reminded us of what the pandemic already showed: strong community hubs are essential.
After the storm, Northside delivered hot meals, safety check-ins, emergency internet access, non-emergency medical transportation, and disaster case management for more than 1,200 North St. Louis seniors and adults with disabilities. π₯π
At the same time, we continued providing safe after-school space, meals, and supportive counseling for more than 200 youth. π«π
That is why this building matters.
The new Northside Intergenerational Community Center will help us serve before, during, and after the next crisis.
We broke ground. Now we keep building. π§

Four generations. One Northside family. One powerful reminder of why this new center matters. π
At our groundbreaking ceremony, Northside alumnus Dalen Brown shared what this organization has meant to his family and to generations of young people growing up in North St. Louis.
Dalen just completed his freshman year at the University of Notre Dame. He and his twin brother, who is also headed into their sophomore year of college, are part of four generations of the Brown family served by Northside.
Their parents, Sherrnette and Chaz Brown, met in Northsideβs youth program, went off to college together, and later married. That is the power of a community institution that stays rooted, shows up, and helps young people see a future for themselves.
Northside has always been more than a building. It has been a place where youth are supported, families are connected, seniors are cared for, and generations are strengthened.
Now, as we build the new Intergenerational Community Center, we are working to create the space our community has always deserved β a place that can serve children, parents, seniors, and families across their lifespan with more dignity, more opportunity, and more impact.
Phase 1 has begun. Now we need your support to help complete Phase 2.
Help us build the future of North St. Louis.
