Senior night was electric!!! I’m really trying to take these moments for what they are and not think of them as the last part of her high school life. I’d appreciate it if it didn’t end but I know it will. I’m excited for her. She has lots of goals and aspirations and she has an OVERLY supportive family and I’m happy to be part of every moment. If you retire and want to be officially and fully retired I respect you. BUT!!!! I couldn’t do it. I like expensive cards and comics and first class travel too much 😂 also I have to keep myself busy for my family’s sanity. Hana describes both sides of the fence. I need to work to keep myself busy.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel after hanging it up after 25 years. I’m officially at the “it’s just part of who I am” part of the book. The dust has settled and I’m blessed beyond measure. I spent more time as a Marine than I wasn’t. I’ve conquered so much and have been blessed by amazing leaders. The one thing that stays persistent in the back of my mind is that I need to keep giving back and I will. .

We mounted a dozen sets of medals for people today. Giving back on behalf of Vince has always been a priority. Retirement has been amazing. The grass is, in fact, greener on the other side. Here is the news!!! I accepted a job as the Director of Business Management and Deputy Operations Officer/Chief of Staff for Crisis Response Company LLC. It’s an Aggie / Veteran run small business that provides innovative and creative solutions for construction, logistics, professional advisory, and military training. The caliber of people that I get to work with is top tier and I am grateful beyond measure to be part of this team. What else does it mean!!? Dallas, Northlake, here we come. The Romer family will be making a big move (first one not directed by the Marine Corps) next summer.
