After 11 months of careful tending, this year’s kiku display is nearly ready for its big moment. πŸŒΈπŸ‘€

It takes a whole team of expert horticulturists here at the Garden to raise these Japanese chrysanthemums from seed to sculptural sensation, and the payoff is well worth it! Starting this Saturday, October 31, come see the results of their hard work in the Nolen Greenhouses, where you can explore this ancient floral art form through both traditional and contemporary designs.

It only lasts through November 15, so don’t wait! Get tickets: https://www.nybg.org/event/kiku/

We've got a surprise for you this weekend, and it's huge! In fact, it clocks in at 2,598 lbs. πŸŽƒ

This year's giant pumpkin comes to us from grower Woody Lancaster in Massachusetts, where it just broke the state record for weightβ€”and it's now on view in all its orange glory here in our Visitor Center. Make sure you stop by to see it while you're here for autumn beauty this weekend, where you can explore our DΓa de los Mu***os trail with live music and crafts, plus set out into 250 gorgeous acres of fall foliage.

Each and every day, NYBG scientists work around the globe to better our understanding of the natural world.

Our research takes us to soaring mountaintops, rushing river rapids, dense junglesβ€”and even the green spaces of New York City. From the laboratory to the field and back again, stay tuned for deeper looks into our efforts to protect Earth’s precious biodiversity as C*D COP17, the ’s Convention on Biodiversity, kicks off today.

Fiesta de Flores, held on October 7 in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and in collaboration with Councilmember Justin Sanchez, brought the community together for a vibrant celebration featuring community honorees, live music, dance performances, food, and a viewing of the Garden's new DΓa de los Mu***os trail. The event recognized local leaders and celebrated the rich cultural traditions and contributions of the Hispanic community.

We were proud to honor Karla Cabrera Carrera, District Manager of Bronx Community 7, with the Community Service Award for Hispanic Heritage Month.
