ICYMI | Day 3 of addressed a multitude of issues facing defense communities, including:

🪖 Enlistment. The current state of the enlisted force in a changing operational and workforce environment, and how installations and defense communities must adapt;

🤝 Military spouses. Leveraging the experience of military spouses to shape stronger policies, programs, and support networks for military families;

⚡Infrastructure downtime. Preventing infrastructure downtime and mission degradation through integrating AI and automation into installation infrastructure;

🩺 Behavioral health. A model for coordinating support services across installations as demonstrated by Alaska’s Military Community Behavioral Health Partnership;

📍Regional coordination. Convening a lasting regional conversation through ADC’s Regional Forum program;

📝 Compatible planning solutions. Adaptive solutions for encroachment management, compatible use planning, counter-drone tactics, and foreign investment challenges; and

🏞️ Natural resources. An interagency, data-driven framework for managing natural resources that reduces regulatory timelines and targets investments, as demonstrated by Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

It's Day 2 of and the conversations here in Tampa are exactly why this event matters.
As ADC’s 2026 Official Water Sponsor and National Sponsor, American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS) is engaging directly with military leaders, installation commanders, and industry partners to solve the infrastructure challenges that impact daily mission readiness.

Emily Stewart, Director of Business Development for ASUS, was on a panel this morning, discussing how critical defense community infrastructure requirements can be met with new acquisition strategies. This panel explores how innovative acquisition strategy itself has become a force multiplier for mission readiness and community collaboration.

Emily will also be a part of the General Session panel beginning at 1:15 pm ET discussing how partnerships can help installations address workforce challenges, including workforce shortages and the loss of specialized expertise.

These are the conversations we’re having this week, and we’re glad to be at the table with the leaders who can drive real change.

During today's general session at IIF 2026, we hosted an Installation Leadership Town Hall, bringing together military leaders from various installations to discuss problems defense communities face and innovative topics.

We also heard from Hon. Dale Marks, Assistant Secretary of War for Energy, Installations & Environment, before delving into a variety of breakout sessions.

We look forward to continuing these important conversations tomorrow for day 2 of !

IIF 2026 has officially begun! For the next three days, attendees will meet with leaders across the country and engage in conversations on the issues shaping our installations, communities, and the missions they support.

Today kicks off with the Installation Leadership Town Hall sessions, featuring senior military leaders from several sectors.
