🎶🇪🇺✨ On International Women’s Day, music said what words couldn’t.

Saturday 7 March, Team Europe invited for a very special concert at the Wiener Konzerthaus - a celebration of the extraordinary women whose voices shaped classical music, and whose works have waited far too long to be heard.

Conducted by the brilliant Mag.ª Silvia Spinnato and performed by the Philharmonie Salzburg, the evening wove together masterworks by Marianna Martines, Louise Farrenc, Maddalena Lombardini Sirmen and Anna Amalia Herzogin von Sachsen-Weimar — composers of genius, finally taking centre stage. 🎻

This concert was a reminder that talent has never had a gender - only history did.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us- and our Team Europe Vienna: the EU Delegation, European Commission, European Parliament, the Fundamental Rights Agency, the Energy Community and the European Investment Bank — for making this evening possible.

We were honoured to screen The Last Ambassador, a deeply moving documentary of Her Excellency Manizha Bakhtari, Afghanistan’s last female ambassador. It portrays her strength, integrity, and unwavering belief that diplomacy can still be an act of resistance. Her decision not to walk away, but to use her voice, her position, and her tireless courage to defend Afghan women and girls and their rights, exemplifies what it means to choose principle over convenience. This is not a mere abstraction; it is the daily reality of diplomats in crisis zones, in authoritarian capitals, and at those critical junctures where one decision can alter the course of history. ’s right

A true pleasure to co-chair productive and friendly EU-Africa Group meeting in Vienna today with H.E. Mohamed Nasr, Ambassador of Egypt. Our biannual exchanges strengthen cooperation ahead of key events and reaffirm our shared commitment to the , multilateralism and the rules-based order.
