Together with patient representatives, the Joint Action Network of Expertise on Cancer (JANE-2), one of the largest networks under Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, published an article on the challenges of providing patients with information about high-tech cancer treatment resources and offered potential solutions.

Physical methods of tumour ablation are among the seven high-tech domains featured in the review, which provides patient information tools on each of these technologies.

The inclusion of physical ablation highlights the importance of minimally invasive approaches in treating localized tumours and of ensuring patients are aware of effective cancer treatment options.

Another successful edition of the ESIR 2026 MSK Embolization course!

📚 Day 1 featured comprehensive, systematic scientific lectures complemented by simulator training, helping participants deepen their understanding of procedural techniques and the anatomical challenges involved in MSK embolization.

🔍 Day 2 brought extensive in vivo hands-on workshops, exploring permanent, temporary, and antibiotic embolic agents under the direct guidance of our expert faculty.

💙 That’s a wrap on our week!

As our takeover comes to an end, I would like to thank CIRSE for giving us the opportunity to share a glimpse into our daily practice at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, City General Hospital “8th September” in Skopje, North Macedonia. 🇲🇰

Throughout this week, I have tried to showcase not only the procedures we perform, but also the people, teamwork, and dedication behind them.

Interventional radiology is a constantly evolving field, and we believe that continuous learning is essential. We regularly attend CIRSE, ECIO - European Conference on Interventional Oncology, and ET congresses and other courses to exchange experiences with colleagues, stay up to date and learn about evolving treatment protocols.

We are proud of how IR has developed in our department, while recognising that there is far more to learn, explore, and achieve.
🤝 We are enthusiastic about building new collaborations with interventional radiology centres worldwide, exchanging knowledge, sharing experiences, and working together.

It has been a pleasure to represent our department and our country within the global IR community. Cheers! 🥳💙
