Alstonville Fire + Rescue 204 station attends 700 fire + community first response calls a year!

Alstonville Fire & Rescue is an oncall station manned by 17 dedicated local firefighters. We are one of NSWs busiest stations - as we are also Community First Responders - meaning we provide much needed advanced first aid before NSW Ambulance arrive.

Last year, nearly half the homes damaged or destroyed by fire in NSW did not have a working smoke alarm!
Be smart and take part in Smoke Alarm Action Day, and test your smoke alarm works!
A working smoke alarm is your best early warning sign of a fire, giving you and your loved ones the chance to get out, stay out, and call Triple Zero (000).

🚨πŸ”₯ Smoke Alarm Action Day
– 1 st June πŸ”₯🚨

With winter just around the corner, now is the perfect time to check your smoke alarms at home.

As the weather cools down, we start using heaters, electric blankets, fireplaces, cooking appliances and charging more electronic devices, all things that can increase the risk of house fires.

Working smoke alarms save lives by giving you and your family early warning and valuable time to escape safely.

βœ… Test every smoke alarm in your home
βœ… Replace batteries if needed
βœ… Replace smoke alarms older than 10 years
βœ… Make sure alarms are correctly installed
βœ… Have a home fire escape plan and practise it

It only takes a minute to test your smoke alarm… but it could save a life.

Don’t become complacent when it comes to fire safety this winter.
