Started in 1859 the Ararat Fire Brigade has always tried to keep up with latest technology. This page is to keep our members and local community up to date with whats happening within the Ararat Fire Brigade and with any fire preparedness, current Fire Safety issues and other CFA activities. 🚒 JUNIOR FIRE BRIGADE – COME & TRY DATES! 🚒

Have a young person aged 11–15 years who might be interested in becoming a junior firefighter? 🔥

Come along and give the Ararat Junior Fire Brigade a try! It's a great way to learn new skills, make friends and get involved in your local community.

🚒 WHAT DO WE DO?
🔥 Learn about different types of fires
🏅 Participate in competitions
🚒 Learn basic firefighting skills
🤝 Get involved with other emergency services
💪 Build teamwork, confidence, communication and social skills

Worried about juniors attending emergencies? Don't be! Our juniors DO NOT attend emergency incidents.

📅 WHEN DO WE TRAIN?
We train every Wednesday night from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm throughout the school terms, with school holidays off.

🏃 What about weekend sports and activities?
We understand that our juniors have other commitments! Running competitions only take place on a few weekends during Terms 4 and 1, where juniors can attend running demos before working towards the State Championships which is over one weekend.

All sessions run from 5:30 pm – 7pm.

The running track at Elizabeth Park, opposite McDonald's, near Alexander Hall.

Whether your child is interested in firefighting, running competitions, learning new skills or simply making new friends, we'd love to see them give it a go!

Come along to the Ararat Fire Station, 8 Tuson Street, on Monday 12th October at 6pm for a free BBQ and Fire Safety Essentials Session.

The session starts at 6:30 and will last about 1 hour with time at the end for any questions.

Thursday Training Night 🚨🚒

On Thursday night the brigade was down at the track practicing an alternative method of getting water in to the fire truck quickly and efficiently. Known as a forward hose lay, it is often used at large structure fires to make sure our firefighters have a good water supply to attack the fire efficiently.
