All smiles for our SPW Long Course Prep Meet!

Thank you to those who braved the wet weather and joined us for a fantastic day of competition. The energy was electric all day as we saw plenty of fierce racing, tightly contested battles and an incredible number of personal best efforts.

A day like today wouldn’t be possible without the support of our club volunteers and Swimming Brisbane officials. Thank you for all your time and efforts in making our meet a huge success.

We can’t wait to welcome you back again next time!

Congratulations to our team of 20 swimmers who competed at the Queensland Open Water Championships on the Sunshine Coast last weekend.

It was a fantastic day of racing with incredible performances. SPW came away with a total of 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, along with a number of Top 10 finishes.

Our focus now turns to our SPW long course prep meet next weekend. We look forward to seeing you there!

Hosted by Swimming Queensland, and bringing together 84 rising stars from around the state, swimmers had the opportunity to learn, train and compete alongside their peers as well as selected coaches.

Our swimmers represented SPW with excellence and came away with valuable training and racing experiences.

Congratulations to the 7 SPW swimmers and Coach Andrey on their recent selection for the 2026 Battle of Brisbane, which took place last Sunday. Swimmers were selected based off their results from the 2026 season.

Inspired by our teammates competing in Argentina at the Junior World Championships, our SPW swimmers had a terrific day at the 2026 Brisbane Open Water Championships on Saturday.

Our team of 40 swimmers put up some incredible performances, coming away with 6 Gold, 9 Silver and 4 Bronze medals, plenty of Top 10 finishes and countless memories of a fun day racing with friends.

Congratulations to all of our competitors, especially those who took on an open water race for the first time!

Congratulations and best of luck to Lachlan Evans, Riley Meares and William Thorpe who are representing Australia at the Junior World Open Water Championships in Argentina this week.

Congratulations also to SPW National Age Head Coach Cameron Gledhill for his selection as an Australian Team coach for these championships.

Racing commences tonight (Australian time) with Lachy in the Men's 10km. Riley and Will are racing in the 7.5km on Friday night, before Riley also then takes on the 3km Knockout Sprint on Sunday.

Relay teams will be finalised following individual performances, with these events to also take place on Sunday evening.

All races will be live streamed on World Aquatics YouTube page.

Congratulations to two members of our National Age Performance Squad members, Oliver Connell and Thomas Bridie, on their team selection and representation on Swimming Queensland’s LA dreaming tour in Adelaide, SA.

Joined by coach Liam, Ollie and Tom have been in staging camp earlier this week and now turn their sights to competing at the South Australian Short Course Championships from Friday 28th - Sunday 30th of August.

The boys have been fantastic representatives for SPW, gaining valuable experience in a performance setting and are looking forward to applying this new knowledge in a competitive environment.

Well done Ollie, Tom and Liam, and good luck for what is sure to be an incredible weekend of racing.

Wishing the best of luck to Cael Eley who is representing Australia at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships this week in Vancouver, Canada.

Cael is racing on Day 2, 3 and 4 of competition, with all events live streamed on the CBC Sports YouTube Channel. Heats commence at 2am and finals from 10pm AEST.

An incredible achievement just to be selected for the Junior Dolphins team, we are excited to cheer Cael on as he takes to the pool from tomorrow morning 💪🏊

Wishing the best of luck to our SPW swimmers competing at the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships this week in Irvine, California.

Tune in tomorrow morning at 5:30am to see .dm take on the 10km Open Water, before our pool swimmers hit the water from Thursday morning (Brisbane time).
