Ferntree Gully North Primary School Ferntree Gully North Primary School Over the past four years the school has steadily increased in enrolment numbers, driven mainly by an increase in Preps.

Ferntree Gully North Primary School, in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, is located directly at the base of the Dandenong Ranges. In 2013 we had student enrolments of 339 with anticipated further growth in 2014 to approximately 360 students. The school had 15 grades with 15 full time teachers, 2 non-teaching Principal class, 9 part time teaching staff and 12 Education Support Staff. In 2013 we had funding confirmed by the State Government to enable a whole school rebuild to commence. The project was confirmed in May as a $4.5 million project and began in August after extensive consultation with Brand Architects who will manage the project on our behalf. We were able to design the buildings and siting on the school premises to customize the design to best suit the way in which we teach and work with students. It was anticipated and is on track that the building project will be completed in the second half of 2014. The school rebuild is based on the projected long term enrolments of our school for the demographics of the Ferntree Gully North PS catchment area which is 275 – 325. Our Year 3/4 camp at Forest Edge was a fantastic success! Students embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves, try new experiences and create lasting memories with their classmates.
Throughout the camp, students enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including the flying fox, crate climbing and hut building. These activities encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones, work collaboratively and support one another as they tackled new challenges.
One of the highlights of the camp was the outstanding behaviour demonstrated by our students. They were complimented on their positive attitudes, respectful behaviour and willingness to participate in all aspects of camp life. Students consistently demonstrated our school values through their teamwork, kindness, resilience and respect for others.
It was wonderful to see students encouraging their peers, celebrating each other's achievements and developing greater independence and confidence along the way.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 3/4 students represented our school and we’d like to thank the parent helpers who helped make this memorable experience possible.

🚓 Our Preps had a special visit from the police! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

As part of our inquiry learning about people who help keep our community safe, our Preps explored the important role of police officers. They had the chance to sit inside a police car, dress up as police officers and ask questions about how police help and protect our community.
A wonderful hands-on learning experience that brought our inquiry to life! ⭐

A fantastic day of district sports! Our students represented the school with pride, gave everything a go and, most importantly, supported and encouraged each other. We’re so proud of their effort, teamwork and positive attitudes. Well done to all involved.

Last Friday at Assembly, we were thrilled to receive a $5,000 donation from Walk a Mile in My Shoes and TreeHaus to support the development of our outdoor classroom spaces.

The funds will help us purchase nets for the new spaces outside our Year 3/4 classrooms, creating fantastic new areas for our students to learn, play and connect.

A huge thank you to Justine Brogna and the Walk a Mile in My Shoes team for their incredible generosity and support! 👏💚

🌟 Victorian State Schools Spectacular! 🌟
We are so proud of our 13 sensational students who performed as part of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular on Saturday!

They worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to the performance, and it was wonderful to watch them shine on stage at John Cain Arena!

What an incredible achievement — well done! ❤️👏
