🎨✨ Avocation: Celebrating the creativity of our QACI staff!

Our Level 1 Gallery has been transformed into a showcase of the incredible creative talents found across the QACI staff community!

Avocation brings together teaching and support staff from across all departments, sharing their creative pursuits beyond their everyday roles. From painting and photography to production design, handmade crafts, video and so much more, there's a wonderful variety of work to discover. 💙

A huge thank you to Ms Bashar and Ms Guymer, our Visual Art teachers, for bringing this exhibition together and encouraging so many staff to get involved. And, of course, thank you to all the staff who generously shared their work!

Make sure you visit Avocation in the Level 1 Gallery before the end of term. You might discover a whole new creative side to someone you know! 👀👏

🌟 Alumni News: Amélie Farren 🎶

A huge congratulations to 2024 QACI alum Amélie Farren, whose song 'Unsweetened Lemonade' has been featured in the third episode of Amazon's new hit series, Carrie! 🎬

Amélie is a singer-songwriter known for her introspective lyrics, upbeat melodies and distinctive storytelling. Blending thoughtful wordplay with energetic soundscapes, her music explores themes of growth, resilience and navigating life's complexities.

Since sharing her music online, Amélie has gone from bedroom performances to major milestones, including supporting Amy Shark and Rag'n'Bone Man, and launching her first headline UK/EU tour in 2025.

It's fantastic to see Amélie's music reaching new audiences internationally, and we're incredibly proud to see our alumni making their mark in the creative industries! 💙

🎸💙 QACI Unearthed | Part 3 of 3

What a way to close out our first-ever QACI Unearthed!

Our final collection of performance photos celebrates the incredible original music shared throughout the evening, and a particularly special milestone for our Year 12 Music students.

As their final music showcase at QACI, Unearthed marked the end of an important chapter in their creative journeys. The evening concluded with a well-deserved final bow, celebrating the talent, dedication and contributions of our graduating musicians. 🎶👏

A huge congratulations to every student who performed and helped make this inaugural showcase such a memorable event!

Special thanks to our Tech Team and stagehands for their fantastic work behind the scenes, and to Mr Barber, Mr Christensen and Ms Oliver for their dedication and hard work in helping organise and bring QACI Unearthed to life.

And to our Year 12 musicians, congratulations on your final QACI music showcase. What a way to finish on a high note! 🎤💙🪿

💙 Happy World Teachers' Day! 🪿

Today, we're celebrating the incredible teachers who inspire, support and challenge our students every day!

To mark the occasion, our QACI students went around the school asking their peers to share some kind words and give shoutouts to the teachers who've made a difference in their lives. 🎤✨

From heartfelt thank-yous to the whole QACI teaching community to special shoutouts, here's a little appreciation for the people who make QACI such a wonderful place to learn and grow!

🎸🎶 QACI Unearthed | Part 1 of 3

Original music took centre stage at QACI for the very first QACI Unearthed, a showcase dedicated entirely to music written, created and performed by our IB Music students!

From solo artists to bands and collaborations, the evening celebrated the incredible creativity, musicianship and originality of our emerging songwriters, composers and performers. 🎤✨

A special thank you to our Year 12 emcees, Maddie and Reuben, for hosting the evening and helping bring the showcase to life!

A huge congratulations to Abigail, Flo, Milla, Rose, Skye, Lily, Gilbee, Jess, Xanthe and Sasha, who represented QACI across featured and backing vocals, musical theatre, senior choir, symphony orchestra, drama and media crew! 🌟

🌟 Preparing our 2027 Connect Mentors! 🪿

Last Friday, our Year 10 students selected as 2027 Connect Mentors spent the day in the QACI Dance Studio developing their leadership skills with Cody from Unleashing Personal Potential!

Through a range of interactive leadership and team-building activities, students explored different approaches to leadership, communication and collaboration, building the confidence and skills they'll need to support others. 🤝💡

Next year, these students will step into their roles as Year 11 Connect Mentors, helping our incoming Year 10s navigate their transition to QACI, build connections and feel welcomed into our community.

A huge thank you to Cody and for facilitating such an engaging day, and congratulations to our future Connect Mentors for embracing the challenge! 💙👏

Today marks the beginning of the 2026 IB Exams for our Year 12 students!

After two years of dedication, hard work and countless hours of preparation, it's time to put all that knowledge into action! 💪✨

To our Class of 2026, we are incredibly proud of everything you've achieved and wish you all the very best as you tackle your final exams.

The IB Exams run from today until Friday 13 November (end of Week 6).
