Last week, our team was delighted to be part of the City of Casey Children's Week Event🌱

Representatives from our Communities for Children (CfC) team, alongside colleagues from Early Childhood Education and Care Services (ECECS) and community partner Anglicare, helped children unleash their creativity through our Paint a Pot activity. The response was incredible, with all 130 pots painted and taken home by enthusiastic little gardeners!🌻

With more than 2,500 parents, children, educators, grandparents, and community members attending the event, it was wonderful to see so many people coming together to celebrate children, families, and the importance of community connection.

A heartfelt thank you to the City of Casey for once again inviting us to be part of this fantastic event. We loved connecting with local families and look forward to returning next year 💚

Behind every Family Day Care service is a passionate educator with a unique story to tell.

Our Early Childhood Education & Care Services Manager, Kat, and CEO, Jenny, recently spent time visiting our educators, taking the opportunity to learn more about their lifestyles, family day care adventures, communities and what inspires them in their work.

These conversations reminded us that Family Day Care is about so much more than care and education. It's about building meaningful relationships, supporting local communities, and empowering educators to create flexible, high-quality learning environments that support children and families.

Thank you to our amazing educators for opening your doors and sharing your journey with us. We are proud to walk alongside you and support the important work you do every day✨

📞 Reporting a crime can feel daunting, but support is available.

The Victims Assistance Program (VAP) can help people affected by violent crime understand their options and navigate the reporting process including:

✔ Information about reporting a crime
✔ Guidance on what happens after a report
✔ Assistance communicating with police
✔ Information about your rights
✔ Referrals to other services that may assist your recovery

Whether you've already reported an incident or are unsure about your next steps, VAP can provide information and guidance tailored to your circumstances.

✨ For children, Christmas is a season of wonder, excitement and magic.

But behind every magical Christmas is something even more powerful: generosity.

The magic of Christmas isn't found under the tree. It's found in acts of kindness, moments of connection and in people who choose to make a difference.

This Christmas, we're inviting our community to help keep the magic alive.

Together, we can create brighter futures, stronger communities and more opportunities for people to thrive.

Four years on, we remember the strength, resilience and community spirit shown during the October 2022 Victorian floods💙

In October 2022, widespread flooding impacted communities across Victoria, damaging homes, businesses, roads and essential services, and affecting thousands of people and families. The recovery journey has been long, but it has also highlighted the incredible determination of communities coming together to support one another through challenging times.

At Windermere, we were privileged to walk alongside individuals, families, and communities through our Emergency Recovery Support Program from October 2022 to 2025. Recovery looks different for everyone, and our role was never to lead the journey, but to support it. Whether it was helping people navigate complex systems, plan their next steps, access available supports, or simply taking tasks off their shoulders when they needed a helping hand, our team was there for a chapter of their recovery story 😊

We are deeply grateful to have shared in the strength, courage, and resilience of the communities we served, and we remain inspired by the determination shown by Victorians as they rebuilt their lives and looked towards the future ✨

This National Carers Week, we recognise and celebrate the incredible contribution of carers across Australia.

Every day, carers provide vital support to family members, friends and loved ones living with disability, illness, mental health challenges, age-related needs or other circumstances. Their compassion, dedication and resilience make a profound difference, often behind the scenes.

Here are a few tips to support carers:
💙 Check-in regularly
💙 Offer a break
💙 Acknowledge and appreciate
💙 Initiate support
💙 Encourage self-care

Join us in recognising and celebrating carers during National Carers Week and thank your carers for all that they do 😊
