Many people experience disabilities or health conditions that are not noticed or easily recognised by others. This we are proud to highlight some support groups that can be judgment-free space for people to come together, share experiences without needing to explain so much, and discus challenges when other settings have been difficult.

💛 Find support with people who understand: www.supportgroups.org.au/find

We're also proud to support people using lanyards and pins to 'voluntarily share that you have a disability or condition that may not be immediately apparent – and that you may need a helping hand, understanding, or more time in shops, at work, on transport, or in public spaces.' 🌻

Another beautiful potluck lunch today, as Jess visited Roshni, Dee and the growing Multicultural Seniors Wellness group at Zillmere Community Centre. We spoke about welcoming new people to the group, how the group has evolved since its start with World Wellness Group, and ideas for 2027 group meetings ~ including a session on cyber safety with us!

Catch them at local seniors expos in Sandgate & Brisbane's north, and for Diwali celebrations coming up!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Looking after ourselves is a kind act of care that ripples toward everyone we’re connected with. Taking care of yourself might feel like quality time to yourself, connecting with loved ones, culture or Country.

🌻 How do you look after yourself?

There are many areas of caring for yourself - whether it's social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) if you're First Nations, or considering self-care dimensions of physical, emotional, social, spiritual, personal, space, financial and work.

Wellbeing grows when we connect. When we share a bit about ourselves and show up for each other, we grow community.

What’s your story? Sharing a memorable moment or life experience can grow genuine connections. When we realise we’re not alone in our struggles, it can help to break down the barriers that keep us from seeking answers and mutual support.

We want to celebrate you and the power of togetherness. We’re asking peer support groups all around Queensland for your memorable moments together, to be featured in our newsletter & social media as continues..

Connecting with people who just understand what we’re going through is a powerful protection through challenging times. Empathy more than explanation, healing community gatherings, sharing tools to navigate it all together.

That’s how Sisters Support and Bint Al Neel started – multicultural women naturally helping each other, growing in partnership with places like us to host more activities, events, and programs that are culturally grounded to meet the needs of their communities.

Their weekly healing sessions "Queens Connect is more than a community; it is a space where women come together to share experiences or challenges , uplift one another, and build meaningful connections."

Sisters Support and Bint Al Neel continue to connect regularly at Inala Community House as part of CHAA, a Community Healing and Accountability movement.
