🏎️ Have you ever visited a Formula One circuit?

If so, chances are you've experienced the work of a company from the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) without even realising it.

TILKE Engineers & Architects, headquartered in Aachen, has completed more than 1,000 motorsports projects across over 50 countries. Their work can be found around the world, including in Singapore through the KF1 Karting Circuit in Kranji and the upcoming Porsche Experience Centre Singapore. 🛞

Companies like Tilke are part of what makes NRW such a dynamic economic powerhouse: industrial and manufacturing excellence by globally renowned corporations, Mittelstand, and startups, world-leading research institutions, and deep innovation networks. 💡⚙️

Second Secretary (Political) Max Heng visited Münster, Düsseldorf, and Aachen in NRW last week to learn more about the state's economic priorities and explore opportunities for deeper cooperation between NRW and Singapore. 🇩🇪🇸🇬

The visit offered a glimpse into the diversity, excellence, and innovation of NRW's economy, from Münster's digital innovation networks 🚀, to Düsseldorf's role as the political and economic centre of the state 🏛️, and Aachen's strengths in research, technology transfer, and advanced manufacturing🔬.

The discussions highlighted the immense potential for enhanced collaboration between NRW and Singapore, supported by the Germany-Singapore Strategic Partnership and Year of Innovation. 🌏✨

Our sincere thanks to all our partners and hosts for their warm hospitality and insightful discussions. We look forward to strengthening these connections in the years ahead!

The Singapore Embassy hosted a Networking Workshop on “Mediation and the Art of Listening” by professional mediator Mr Christian von Baumbach on 8 May 2026.

Over 40 participants from more than 20 embassies and missions across Berlin attended this workshop where they learnt useful mediation techniques that could be applied to resolve disputes that they encounter in their professional roles.

The workshop explored the role of mediation and active listening in fostering constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and effective communication across professional and intercultural contexts.

Did you know that Singapore has long supported the use of mediation as an important tool for international dispute resolution? In 2018, the Singapore Convention on Mediation (SCM) was adopted by the UN to provide a uniform and efficient framework for international commercial dispute resolution settlement. Thus far, over 55 countries have signed onto the SCM.

Defence ties between Singapore and Germany are longstanding, with both our armed forces engaging regularly in joint training exercises. This year, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the SAF training in the Oberlausitz Military Training Area.

We welcome the men and women of the 48th SAR who are taking part in live firing exercises with their German counterparts!
